GH2 at the Zoo

On holiday in Pembrokeshire, South Wales last week I went to a small zoo ( http://www.manorhousewildlifepark.co.uk/ ) which allowed plenty of opportunity to get close to the animals.

All taken in raw with the GH2 + 45-200mm lens.

Excellent images. The lens is sharp. Have you used triopd?

That ostrich looks jealous of the peacock...lol. What an ugly bird!

Nice shots!

Re: GH2 at the Zoo - Amazing images
  • Amazing images, good colors, sharp, and detailed, superb for a lens of that price

All,

Many thanks for the kind comments!

I am also impressed with the 45-200mm lens - especially for the price. My only quibble is that the barrel is a little loose - if the lens is held vertically it does tend to droop. Otherwise it's fine.

Mike, those are freaking good !! I hate that my copy of the 45-200 was so mundane I returned it. The barrel was opposite to yours, pretty stiff, and I could never muster proper subject isolation or tack sharpness or color pop from it. It was just pretty "meh". I got the 40-150 instead and love it. Sample variations, I guess. Your images are superb !!

Thanks!
No all hand held.
I used ISO 160 and 640 - the light was bright but overcast.

I love the first one of King Julian. Something is missing, though, hmmm, oh yeah, the crown

I knew that little lens was a winner. All your images are incredibly crisp. My 45-200 also have a loose barrel, or maybe not loose, but very smooth. I love it actually,
