Re: developer menu settings in firmware.

I tested the NX200 PTP (Picture Transfer Protocol) mode with several programs.
1. Camera Control 5.2
2. CameraTether52h1
3. Smartshooter
4. Icarus Camera Control for Mac.

It seems, however, that the PTP is supported only transfer photos. All programs reported that the camera does not support the operation. Too bad, it would be nice.

Re: developer menu settings in firmware.

Great to see this. If the limit is disabled, then we could record up to the battery power limit, which is 110min, I suppose
Thanks for the info!

Re: developer menu settings in firmware.

Hi!
Interesting idea?
I see that the EX1 (TL500) manual is also there ....

Maybe there are extra enhancements that we can add?

Thanks

Re: developer menu settings in firmware.

so from my understanding there is an 'adjustment file' that is for the adjustment control menu.

This could possibly stop the camera from having this stupid voltage limit on the hotshoe.

Well, just to revive an old thread, I wanted to confirm that, for us Europeans, the "Disable movie rec limit" does work!
With a 16Go SDHC card, I can now record slightly more than 2h straight...

Neat thing, also, to be able to setup the "heat warning" temp.

Great work! Can you tell how to do it? I guess the battery will be the limit. No overheating?

Re: developer menu settings in firmware.

Well, as noted before by another poster, here is how to enter the debug menu:

"turn power on.
select 'smart auto mode'.
press these buttons in sequence:

1. UP
2. OK
3. DOWN
4. OK
5. RIGHT
6. EV + OK (press OK while pressing EV button)"

Now you'll enter the Debug menu, with 4 items.

Enter item "2.System Parameters", and you'll have access to several sub-items, one of them being "(6) Disable Movie Rec limit".
Once checked, you press Menu twice, and voilà!

Re: developer menu settings in firmware.

Done, very nice. I also found the lens adjustment menu under it and can reset the OIS. I clicked it and it's readjust the OIS. Don't know what's the effect.
Thanks for the info!

Thats fantastic news, thanks for sharing your success. My US nx200 still does not voila.....
Still says 25:00.
During recording did your screen say that as well. Can anyone else confirm?

645D, I would highly reccommend you not change Lens Control and Adjustment Control, I know its tempting but the service manual describes its use with additional equipment and more specifically additional special software files that get uploaded to the camera or calibration device and only seem to be available to service technicians. I have in the past done a quick google search for the files with no luck.

I dont have a pdf reader installed atm but I distinctly remember that section of the service manual describing those adjustments to be wayy beyond my basic comprehension of camera adjustments.

Mine also still says 25 after the fix.

Yeah, I was thinking it would have a submenu, but it goes directly to adjust. So I was worried. After the adjustment, it displays a message "OIS default string". I tested the OIS function at 1/8 sec, got about over 60% success rate, seems more success on 55mm and 18mm ends than in between focal length. I didn't do a test before the adjustment, so don't know if it got better or worse.

Is it also possible to disable that for jpeg enforced Distortion Correction which usually can't be disabled for the NX 20mm 2.8 pancake? and maybe also some other lenses.

Hi there,

I have NX200 with firmware 1.10. I follow this key sequence, but I can't access the debug menu. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Re: developer menu settings in firmware.

Since Firmware 1.10 there is no access to the developer menu. I have no information about a new keystroke sequence.

Hi! I use an NX2000, i'm really interested on using old canon FD lenses on my NX body, I have an adapter, but i couldn't use it because my camera doesn't allow me to take photos "without lens". I've been searching how to enable it, but i dont know how to get into the developer menu. Thanks for your attencion, i'll wait for your reply.

I was able to mod my NX2000 to use Manual lenses and adapters by removing and shorting the microswitch inside the lens housing! The one that is pushed by the silver pin when you attach a lens. It works perfectly! It'll record pics without lens and is still able to communicate with NX Lenses for Af and stuff.

I used the ifixit "LCD removal" Tutorial, but it does not show the procedure for the hotshoe screws!

If you have any experience opening electronics, it'll be really easy! Just be careful with the hotshoe! I broke 2 screw holes of my NX2000 for inexperience in this.

I'll post some pictures.

Hotshoe

Insert a pin or a thin screwdriver

Remove the plate, then remove the screws!

There are two options, first and simple, you can cut and short the wires, that way if for some reason you want to make the microswitch work again, you can simply revert the process.

Second option is more complex, (I chose this one because I didn't knew that the wires for the switch were so obvious in there), which consist in fully removing the microswitch, cut the wires and short them together!

I dont have a picture of the procedure, I failed to film the process, but I have a picture of the microswitch board in my hand.

Microswitch

Short these black wires!

It works fine, I'm currently using a MD-NX converter, with the MD bayonet changed for a CY bayonet, plus a Cy 2x Teleconverter macro focusing, with a M42 Female screw instead of CY, so I can use my M42 Lenses! That is surelly not the best aproach, but its hard to find those things here in Brazil!

CY-NX adapter, used to be MD-NX adapter

Cy to M42 teleconverter, used to be a CY-CY teleconverter

I love the macro of this combination, I like to play with my lenses a lot and sometimes I find some combinations that work like it was meant to be this way from factory!

Helios 44m-6 + 2x Teleconverter Vivitar + NX2000 @58mm f4 1/125 ISO1250

Helios 44m-6 + 2x Teleconverter Vivitar + NX2000 @58mm f5.6 15" ISO100

Helios 44m-6 + 2x Teleconverter Vivitar + NX2000 @58mm f2 1/40 ISO3200

Well, feel free to contact me and I'll do my best to help! I'll make a video of the process and post in youtube and start a thread in the forum with this mod to help my Samsung NX lovers friends

UPDATE!!

I was able to find a way to hack NX2000 and mod things that normally are only available in the hidden developer menu!

I made a github, for those interested in using NX2000 with manual lenses, no video cap and 1080p60.
