Colorful handheld stacks

Canon 60D with 100mm macro and a Raynox 250 plus an extra magnifying glass taped to the end, 430EX DIY diffused flash used.

between 4 and 10 pics per stack and stacked in CS5 using auto align and auto blend.

Great shots.

How do you go about hand holding for focus stacking? Do you physically move in/out taking shots or do you hold the camera still and adjust the focus? I've only ever done it with a tripod.

yes exactly what you said, I move the camera forward and fire in quick succession.

under EDIT > Auto align layers and auto blend layers is under that.

Amazing photos! How do you maintain such sharpness after stacking several images? Isn't the fly moving around a bit while you are snapping the pictures?

Hi and thanks for the nice reply, I do move around a little but the auto align in cs5 takes care of that and sharpness remains.
