I thought I'd try my sharpest lens - the Contax G 90mm - with the extension tubes. Hey I might actually get the hang of macro one of these days.
Chris

Yes it seems to be pretty sharp wll, but up until now I've only used it for portraits.

Very, very nice Chris

Awww I like that mate, the perfect comp IMO and a gorgeous subject. Selective focus is bang on where it should be for this. Great eye and a darn good shot !!. Have to love those colours.

All the best over there Chris, really nice shooting.

Re: ** NEX Back Yard Photo Challenge **

I love the contrasts in colour here, very well seen and taken. Very nice natural textures and plenty of sharp details.

All the best and nicely worked.

Re: Very, very nice Chris

It's tricky when they are being blown around. I've never noticed slight breezes so much since I started focussing on flowers. Thanks for the kind words Danny.

A few more

Just odd shots I haven't posted from the front yard, some new, some old. Similar to other shots, but different.

Wax eye / Silver eye

Lily Pollen

Sparrows, I just love sparrows you might have noticed

A different dew drop from the other day

Take off from the lemon tree, oh that dreaded lemon tree, LOL.

Red Admiral and bumble bees

All the best folks, keep them coming.

Danny.

Gorgeous

You know, ginger male cats have the best personality of them all. We had a very large one we called "Toby" and this reminds me of him. Just a big softy :). My sister also has a ginger one called "Bruce", he is minus the tail through an accident from the first owner. Just gorgeous.

All the best and wonderful eyes and coat. :). Love him and so does my wife.

I've never seen 3 colours of Crocus together so this is neat to see. The details in the Crocus makes them my favourite flower of all time, those and Orchids.

All the best and gorgeous bursts of colour.

Re: A few more

Danny are those your giant NZ bumble bees? I remember my first time in NZ I was amazed by the size of the bumble bees. It must have been a funny sight, 6 grown men oohing and aahing over a hedge containing some bumble bees. But then fly fishermen are a bit odd anyway.

Danny, the bird shots are truly outstanding. What lens do you use for them?

So Trout huh

Where did you go Chris ??.

Not too big these ones, but yeah I know what you mean mate, we do have some monsters here, but then you guys have massive ants !!. I was totally amazed (and bitten) in Darwin with the size of the buggas Those are some massive mean ants you have next door.

Hey if you ever get back this way, let me know Chris. I don't fish but sure like to shoot..... cameras

First bird shot is with the Canon FD 300mm F/2.8L and the second is the Canon FD 500mm F/4.5L. Not the greatest Chris, but they are cropped a bit.

All the best bext door mate.
