A Tacky question

Hi!
I have kind of a 'tacky' question.

Our EX1 and WB750 (probably like most digital cameras) suffer from wind noise. I've searched on the web and I've found that one can purchase 'Dead Cat' (fake fur not a real cat) that one can use to cover the mic holes. To reduce wind noise.

I really don't want to have a clumps of fake fur on top of our cameras. I noticed that my wife's telephone headset has a nice foam microphone screen - so I've requisitioned that. I'm thinking that I'll cut it up into small circles to go over the microphone holes. Haven't done it yet, but I'm thinking I'll use a one hole paper punch to stamp out nice even 1/16" circles. That'll cover the holes.

But how to I attach it to the camera. I don't want to use glue. Might ruin the finish. I tried magnets, the camera's metal tops aren't magnetic. Velco won't work as I would have to glue one of the two pieces to something.

I'd like, whatever it is, to be a little tacky so I could put it on, and take it off easily.

Any ideas.

Thanks

Re: A Tacky question

I'm not sure if going through all that effort would be worth it- i would imagine that the foam circles you cut would be too small to make much a difference- but then again, the mic is equally smaller, so it might work.

perhaps you can find a kind of gel type sticky-tack kind of thing...i can't remember the name, but you might want to try a hardware store or wal mart or something.
