B & W only M9 ?......
It also said it might not have a LCD screen, that would be awesome! I would totally get it but like always it would be WAY out of my budget. I really like the idea though.....
Read a rumer that there is a B&W only M9 coming soon....
At this point, it is only a rumor. But if this is true, and this so called B&W only camera is not just a special edition, Leica have just made a huge strategic blunder! I really hope that his news is false...
...If it is true it will come with certain benefits I have no doubt, probably in terms of resolution, High ISO and LOW ISO performance!
I wouldn't mind not having a screen, remember when we didn't have a screen in our film cameras? we had to wait for processing to see the pics! It will curtail the chimping disease and force us to 'use the force' and rely on our instincts!
Of course I'll welcome the considerable and corresponding reduction in cost of such a camera, what's that you say? it will be a £1000 'more expensive'???
If B&W sensor true, it will be as earlier day; one camera for B&W and another for color! Some old professionals has said that it is difficult to take both B&W and color photos on same day - it is better to concentrate to B&W or color on one day.
But I think it is very good that some camera developers are thinking little bit different way, e.g. just that there can be markets for B&W sensor!
yeah I used to carry one body with Kodachrome 25 and another with hp5, this is just the digital version:)
You should trademark "memory strip." That's awesome.
I hear it also has a removable sensor cum memory strip also known as film.
KOdak made some B&W only working DSLR's but they said they were not satisfied with the IQ so they never brought the camera to market. But they did try!
