How come not scores of Fuji X10s on Ebay?

After reading all of the hysterical moaning on this forum about the X10 and all its faults....you'd think Ebay would be swamped with cheap second hand models as owners rushed to ged rid of their lemons? Odd....not 1 second hand X10 to be seen.

Returned to retailers or Fujifilm

X10 isn't really old enough to go on the used market.

But like all cameras, it will eventually.

The X10 is new enough that those that needed to return it did so, those that love it will not sell, those that can not return it are hoping for a fix and are holding out... soon

EBay Uk has quite a few - £300 to £350, or there about..

Odd....not 1 second hand X10 to be seen.

Where did you look? I had no trouble finding some.

There is a hell of a lot of so-called 'open box' deals which have turned out to be sealed bags and new... the stores are tying to dump the stocks.

Note: 'open box' deals have different warranties to sold-as-new - the 'open box' warranties are more restricted on why you can return, because they are sold as 'used'.

There are some on Ebay UK. But i guess most are too afraid to sell them on for fear of a disgruntled buyer leaving bad feedback , or because some have ethics about selling on a camera with a fault they couldnt put up with themselves. I wouldnt feel good selling one on and i sell a LOT of cameras on ebay.

At Amazon-US: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_12?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=fujifilm+x10&sprefix=fujifilm+x10%2Celectronics%2C187

My guess is that the former owners find it more convenient/quick/safe to sell (or return cameras in less than mint condition) to Amazon even if at a lower price.

Plenty of refurbishes and used ...

... on Amazon US and at Fujifilm UK.

Some people have bought cheap "Open Box" ones and discovered that they were NOT open box but were new cameras, so some stores are dumping stock.

In the UK there's a 26% discount on the RRP at Amazon UK.

And also, why screw ANOTHER mug with it when you can return it to Fuji? IF you can.

Matt, the number available on Amazon keeps rising daily - but I've wondered if some sellers place a cap on the amount available in order to keep the prices somewhat profitable. They can be purchased for less than half of what they debuted in my area.

In my opinion, the camera has more things wrong with it than the orbs that would keep me from purchasing it.

It also has a two-year manufacturer warranty, at least here in Canada.

Perhaps, people are still waiting for firmware 1.0.4?

"Hysterical?" "Moaning?"

That's hysterical!

Why start a post? Did you think it would support a view of yours or refute the facts which have been "moaned" about "hysterically" on FTF?

You didn't even do your homework and now you have many observations re where the X10 is appearing.

I see things haven't changed since I was gone.

Well - only a little.

They got past the orb-denials and the "stop posting about orbs FFS!" type threads.

Now they are into forum flooding with bogus claims of a hidden sensor update, or newer serial numbered cams being OK.

They have even stooped as low as the "I found orbs from a different camera" (when all they are is just starry blobby blooms).

Sad how they insist on trying to get others to buy this camera - they can't all be getting $$ kickbacks from Fuji, can they?

Won't help, Fuji people have acknowledged it's in the sensor design.

I realize that - I'm just saying that people who don't visit the forums regularly or at all may not really care. Hard to believe though, since this is an expensive enthusiast camera...

Do you care to post a link to Fuji's acknowledgement of a sensor design ...? Their claim that it works "within specs" doesn't mean they admitted their design is faulty.

BTW, I'm well aware of orbs but I still delight in shooting with the X10.

(I know I'm not FeedMe, but the link was at hand in the browser's history.)

Fuji people on the "orbs problem": "Yeah, that's part of the sensor. It's part of the way it's built."
