With the rumor of an updated NEX lens roadmap for 2012 ( http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/sr5-a-minimum-of-six-nex-lenses-will-be-announced-this-year/ ), there are 3 extra new lenses coming for a total of six this year. Just a reminder, the 3 we sort of know about are:

1) 'G' high performance standard zoom
2) Wide Angle Zoom
3) Mid Telephoto

I wonder what would you guys want for lenses no. 4, 5 and 6. If you also want to guess the specs for lenses 1, 2 and 3, you're most welcome to do so :)

I wish for, trying to keep it realistic and prices down to earth:

1) 'G' 18-90mm f2.8-4.0 ---I would definitely get this baby! :)
2) WA: 11-18mm f/4.5-5.6 (like the SAL1118)
3) Mid telephoto: 85mm f2.8 or faster (there's the SAL85F14Z)

and in no particular order:

4) Longer FL macro: maybe 60 or 100mm f4.0 or faster with native extension tubes like Canon's

5) Normal equivalent FL prime: 28 or 30mm f2.0 or faster, and compact (slightly larger than the current 16mm would be great

6) ??? maybe a half-price than 18-200mm all-around (24-120mm f3.5-5.6 ?), or a long zoom 70-300mm

Count me in for the
1) 'G' 18-90mm f2.8-4.0

Wanting some thing a bit more performant than my 18-200. Happy with the line up otherwise.

Some additional pancakes in the mid range focal lengths would make for a very interesting ultra portable combination.

and I want one 'G' 18-90mm f2.8-4.0, please :)

+

35 1.7 (prefer 1.4)
50 1.7 (prefer 1.4)
90 2.8 macro

I would love to have something like the Tokina ATX 11-16mm f2.8 with OSS and a 35mm or 40mm f1.4 with nice creamy bokeh and OSS as a flexible portrait lens! Those with the SEL18200 and SEL24F18z would make my NEX set complete for me!

I want a pancake super silent zoom lens from 10mm-500mm f1.4-f11 Black with chrome trim plus weather sealed for 299.

This might, just be at little unrealistic:

8mm, f2.8 prime, AF - super wide angle with low distortion
24mm, f1.2 prime, AF - very fast wide angle
30mm, f1.0 prime , AF- very fast short normal
40mm, f1.0 prime, AF, OS - very fast long normal
55mm, f1.2 prime, AF, OS - very fast short tele
135mm, f1.4 prime, AF, OS - very fast tele

Like I said, a tad unrealistic... ;-)

I have the Tokina with a F mount but Novoflex hasn't sent me an adapter yet...

grumble

it should start from 16 and not 18!

FED-S (my father's) > Canon AE1 (my brother's) > Minolta Maxxum 3xi (my first precious) > Minolta Dynax 400si (hello Canada) > Minolta Dimage 7i (darling) > Konica Minolta 5D (first DSLR) > Sony Alpha A100 (killer baby) > Sony Alpha A700 (serious tool) > Canon 5DMkII (weird computer with average lenses) > Back to A700 (reassured about the greatness) + A900 (depth of colours and pixels)

How about a 28mm/2.0 pancake, a compact-ish 35/1.8, and a collapsing 16-55 zoom sort of like the Panasonic X zoom (but just long enough to accommodate a zoom ring instead of a lever)?

Would go a long way toward addressing the criticism that the NEX lenses are too big.

when and how for a small zoom is the key - there was a design for one in 2009 that did not go forward

400mm f2.8 please Sony :D

+1,000,000

Make it a new system - focus on quality and the best mix of optical quality and compactness. Leave the large megazooms for the SLR.

1. G 16-70 4.0 (18 is not wide enough, 4.0 to keep it compact)
2. CZ Sonnar 90/2.8 (the formula is there. BTW I couldn't afford the CZ 85/1.4)
3. Macro 2.5/105
4. G/CZ 135/2.8 (Copy the Sonnar, or copy the STF).
5. CZ Planar 1.4/50
6. 10-20/4.0

If you have to do a telezoom, please make it compact rather than long (i.e. 75-150/4.0)

I can't afford all off them now in addition to the CZ24 that is scheduled to arrive tomorrow :-)), so please 1+2 first.

You forgot the Ferraris to take photos of... ;)

400mm f2.8 please Sony :D
I thought of something like that :) but with the autofocus speed of the NEX, maybe it wouldn't work that well :(

And I think Sony sees the NEX system as strictly compact, so that huge lens wouldn't fit in their plans; not that they're making compact lenses now :|

Naw... Ferraris aren't good enough to transport these...
