How cheap are Panasonic X lens kits

I just received a Panasonic GF3 and 14-42mm X lens and according to the dealer Panasonic now fit the lens to the camera and therefore don't supply a lens bag or lens and body caps.

It seems really cheap not to supply them.

Does anyone have the kit supplied with caps? How about GX1 kits?

Weird. No body or lens caps?

Well, you can get 3rd party ones from the ebay for less than $8 USD, but it sounds like a strange cost cutting method- as those plastic caps can't be that much (and I'd assume they have tons of them laying around at Panasonic, since they've always supplied them). The bag I can see not including... but the caps is weird.

The GX1 kit w/14-42 X lens does come with body and lens caps.

My GF3 came with the X lens attached to the body. No separate caps for the body or back of the lens.. only the lens cap on the front of the 14-42 X lens.

I picked up a GF3 from Amazon and was surprised to see the lens attached and no caps. At least your next lens will have a cap to throw on when you change lenses, but yes, I was a bit dismayed....

Even the cheap kit lenses used to be supplied with lens caps and a soft pouch.

The X lens is supposed to be positioned as a higher end line but apparently not enough to stop Panny penny pinching at least on the kits with cheaper body.

Now I have to hunt around that auction site for third party body and lens caps. It doesn't leave you with that contented feeling a new purchase should.
