True Love - the GRD IV and me.

Got my GRD IV last night - I LOVE it.

This JPEG (shrunken) was taken on the way into work this morning - a quick-as-aflash snapshot (didn't want to get arrested for taking the picture), with a little Lightroom tweaking.
We may start a family. Merry Christmas.

Yes Joel - it was set to just plain B&W - not high contrast or anything. Cropped square in Lightroom.

Oddly enough, I drove past the London Bridge just a few minutes ago and I couldn't see a subway station anywhere about. Lots of tourist stuff, but no subway. Hmmm.

Re: True Love - the GRD IV and me.

Regarding the ISO 154, I have noticed with my GRD4 that the camera will never use an ISO higher than 154 unless I manually change it, regardless of how light or dark it is. I'm not sure if this a problem with the camera or that's how the camera is supposed to act.

For example, if I try to take a shot at night with only dim street lights on Auto, A, or S, the camera will default to ISO 154. Unless I bump up the ISO to like 800, it would be really blurry. Not sure why they'd make it like this because the result would be pretty bad nighttime performance for the users who just use the Auto setting.

I have noticed this, too. Will try to read the instruction book now I've a few days off & I've also just updated the firmware to v1.17.

Re: True Love - the GRD IV and me.

to get higher iso in auto mode :

select auto-hi

then select the max iso you want to allow

(with 1/3 selected for iso steps, you can pick iso 640 ou iso 1000 as the maximum)

then you will have a tailor made auto-iso going as high as manually allowed
