thoughts on wb750

I am waiting for it to come out. I have been looking at the Canon S100 also but I hope the Samsung 750 can do better. It seems a lot of point and shoot cameras are getting into zoom wars. I would prefer they keep the zoom range more reasonable and concentrate on quality images.

We need to look at image quality of wb750 but it has a feature that I would liked to had recently in a bedding: to can take 10mp stills while shooting video. And also other features that are better in wb750: BSI CMOS sensor, HDR, auto panorama, full HD video, low compression jpegs, and also I think has better high speed video, dual stabilization, 3D, built-in movie maker, auto red eye fix, beauty mode, pre-capture shoot...
Wb750 can compare to SX230 but I think It's a lot better than SX210.

Sorry I mistaked the model, 220 is 230 less GPS, but I think HDR, auto panorama, low compression jpegs, dual stabilization, 3D, built-in movie maker, beauty mode, are stilll better in wb 750.

I am quite interested in it. It is much slimmer than the Canon and should fit easily in a shirt pocket. The sensor is the same size as the Canon and is a modern back-lit design so should have at least comparable performance.

all those extra feature from the canon isn't a major selling feature to me, it's the image quality that matters to me. If it can be the same or better then I'm SOLD! i also love the slimmer design and the non pop up flash! I like where me thumb will sit on the wb750 vs on the canon where it's on the wheel.... so that is why this one has caught my attention. those extra features are a plus but i know i won't use them that much. Does anyone have any thoughts on when reviews will start to come out or pics? I can pre order it from a local camera store but none have it in yet....

that's good to hear, i can't wit to read some reviews and see some pics. i like what i see and read about it so far.

So this it not worth to buy, the sensor is too small, for achieving anything far from correct. This sort of product should be banned from market.

Not necessarily, but sensor size does help.

Enter the WB2000/TL350. When they get it right, they can't figure out what to do with it. Clearly, Samsung is capable of making it. Finishing it to the standards of competitors before abandoning it and the marketing are other stories.

well i can't wait to see some images from this camera ... very excited. I love the design and shape of it compared to it's competitors.

IQ is very important, not for other reason i've put "We need to look at image quality of wb750" at the very front of my initial post.

i sure hope we get to see some pics very very soon so i can decide if it's in fact the wb750 or the sx220 i am getting. I need to decide fast and soon...

Sensor is very important, but we are speaking about compact cameras, so sensor size has important implications in size and price of lens and then on weight and size of cameras.

BTW, brands have noticed the limits of 1/2.3 sensors: with 14mp and above IQ decreases too much. Samsung has reduced the resolution from 14mp in wb700 to 12.5 in wb750.

But not only size, also have different types: wb750 comes with CMOS instead of CCD, and also adds BSI to it.
So there are reasons to expect for IQ of this camera.

I repeat, speaking about compact cameras and a zoom greater than 5x. I only know an alternative: Nikon P7100, with only 7x zoom, greater sensor but doubled size, doubled weight and doubled price of the camera.

and more $$$ too... I am not wanting to spend over 300 with tax, plus zoom is important to me!
