This is the best deal I've ever seen on the E-Pl1: camera, 2 lenses, the official PEN carrying bag, and a 4GB memory card.

Shipping included.

$399.00.

Yes - you can get the E-PL2 from B&H with 2 lenses and also get a viewfinder and all the improvements in the E-PL2 (screen, shutter speed, etc) for around 668.00. When you add tax and a viewfinder to the Costco bundle, the B&H deal seems better.

Dodd Camera is selling the E-PL2 two lens kit for $529. This is a very reliable camera store chain in the Cleveland area. I bit about a month ago when the price was $50 higher.

Re: Olympus E-PL1 2 lens kit at Costco online

I decided to pick up the Costco deal. Nothing to lose at this price with their return policy...I wonder if it really does come with the M.Zuiko 14-42mm f3.5-5.6 II Lens like it says. I thought only the E-PL2 came with this version of the lens. That would be a bonus if so.

Also, nearly nothing to lose considering the sum of these parts should bring an easy $350 on ebay in a years time.

I would be interested to know if the E-PL1 is still under production considering they are selling it now with the Mark II lens.

The E-PL1 is Olympus' top selling compact system camera on ebay. It is in the top rated list as #4 for compact system cameras.

It's also interesting that Olympus can probably do this due to the low cost of the Oly 40-150mm, which must be much cheaper to produce than the Panasonic alternate 40-200 which includes OIS.

We are seeing a major push by Olympus into the lower end of camera food chain with these prices.

run, don't walk to Costco. The E-pl1 is perfect for legacy glass. lot's of "control dials" on the lenses.

Re: If you have any legacy glass....

I might have considered that price on a PL2 (could have then added the EV1/2 and still come in lower in price than my G3) but the LCD on the PL1 is half the resolution.

Re: If you have any legacy glass....

I wanted the PL2 also and the higher res screen but decided to give the PL1 a shot at this price. If I cannot deal with it then I will return it.

The Mark I doesn't focus quite as fast as the Mark II, but it is sharper and focuses closer. Outdoors in good light, or with a flash it does fine.

And, if you are going to be shooting legacy glass anyway, who cares?

I don't see where it says that, and the lens shown in the product photo is definitely the MK I version. A geat deal either way.

I also was originally interested in the E-PL2, but ended going with the E-PL1 for the lower price. I haven't regretted it at all.
