It's a good lens in my opinion. Also works great with the Pentax-F 1.7X AF Adapter.

My brother has an Adaptall 2 180/2.5 (I don't think it's a special edition) and it's a great lens. I tried it out on my K-7 last year next to my DA*200/2.8. In overall IQ - especially bokeh - there wasn't much to choose but the Tamron is less prone to green/purple fringing. Unfortunately I wasn't too careful in equalising the views. Tamron first:
