Re: EVILRemote shutter and time-lapse controller for Android mobile

Hello! Awesome work on the Android IR shutter app. I was wondering if you it's possible to use the built in IR on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 instead of having to make the headphone IR remote?

In no way I succeed to make it work

Tried soldering 4 different led and 2 different audio jack.

My phone is a sony xperia U, should work with it.

I wonder if Nex-5N has different .wav control from Nex-5, but it's quite absurd.

Udate: it works from the computer, playing the audio file.

So I tried 20 times with the phone and a couple of times it worked.

It seems like my phone's output is too low

I tried some apps that boost the volume but with them there's no result at all.

This looks all very great, but sadly I'm no hero at DIY projects.

Is there something similar or even easier for the nex7?

Hi.

I have got this working on my Galaxy Nexus, but it is a little flaky. I have no problem hearing the audio come out, so the app appears to be working fine. I extracted the IR LEDs from a couple of Apple Remotes (who the hell ever uses those things?). Normally, I think they are 3V LEDs. However, the camera is very sensitive to how the LEDs are positioned.

Have you had any trouble finding LEDs sensitive enough to be properly powered by the audio jack?

Great job, I support all open sourced projects! What if the Android smartphone already has a built in IR blaster (remote control function for TVs etc.).

Can you make it work?
