May I suggest the 'Billingham Hadley Small' ? or is that a bit too big for your liking?

If you're taking to me, I had the Hadley Pro model. The Hadley Small isn't large enough for what I need, the Hadley Pro was. The A&A ACAM 7100 or Black Label Bag "Oskar's One Day Bag Mark 2" provide the same capacity as the Hadley Pro in a somewhat trimmer overall package.

ah...billingham has a hand carry which would not be suitable for my preference. thanks for suggesting.

Not sure what you mean. The Hadleys are all shoulder bags with a shoulder strap, the Hadley Pro has a supplementary handle for hoisting it about as well.

They're beautifully made bags and I'd recommend them to anyone, but IMO the rounded bottom corners cuts down on their carrying capacity. This is why the A&A and BLB bags can carry more and be physically smaller.

Are you using any inserts with LL Beans? I checked this back out of curiosity and found no padding and dividers. Wondering how you are keeping GXR + 2 modules in single compartment.
