Re: Nikon D90 Firmware Update!

Im new to the D90 but Im surprised that it only had one update in how many years? They could of added a couple of more features.

I'm not updating until I find out what this update does. Even then, I am not sure I would update. I don't want it to mess anything up.

This update was released late last year.

1.002 is the latest version of the Distortion Control Data. They’ve included data for the latest lens releases.

If you don’t use distortion control, then you don’t need it. The D90 doesn’t apply distortion control automatically. You have to apply it manually through the retouch process.

If you do use distortion control, but don’t own any of the lenses released in the last two years, then you don’t need the update.

Updating your camera does no harm. No functionality is affected, except being able to select "Auto" in the retouch distortion control function for the new lenses.

Re: Nikon D90 Firmware Update!

My D90 bought on March 10, 2011 had the update already installed, so it must have been a recent build.

It's not D90 firmware; it's a lens data update for both the D90 & D5000.
As already mentioned, this was released last year, around October 2010.

Well, as recent as around Sept. 2010, when the lens data was updated to v.1.002.

Re: Nikon D90 Firmware Update!

Not all software has "logs". Nikon firmware does not have any obvious logs, but upon thinking about it further, there is one service function that does appear to behave like a dump "issues".

Possible if you are having observable problems, you should call product support.

Re: Nikon D90 Firmware Update!

Thanks

I have sent a email to Nikon, to see if they ask me to send the Camera back to them, Yesterday I have purchase a new SD card since one of the errors said the ' CHA' but I get another errors, I hope the Nikon will help.

Is any way to get to the 'issues' your mention?

Thanks

There is a service API that the service people should use, and if that is "issues" I'd leave it for them to review, as the process of getting then clears the data after fetch.
