Re: Sad News...

This is indeed a sad bit of news. Ronnie was more than a skilled photographer - he was one who would help others and share his techniques so they may improve their work.

Ronnie will continue to be missed by many. Condolences to his family and loved ones.

Re: Sad News...

When I saw the heading I was afraid this was the news. Terrible, terrible news. My condolences to all who knew him. So much talent--dare I say brilliance-- cut down way way too early. His spirit will live on in his works, for sure.

Thankful we had a chance to say goodbye.

Thanks for that news. It IS very sad, especially since Ronnie was so highly respected by and contributed so much to this forum. I'm just grateful that he gave us a chance, last year, to share our thoughts with him in advance of his passing.

Photo of Ronnie Gaubert

... I remember when he bought his D200 and did a wee write up on the new features. It was only yesterday, 2006 ... Time flies doesn't it?

For those who didn't "know" him, here is a photo of him with his mother taken from his pbase website. Hope fully this will stay for others to enjoy.

Rest in peace, Ronnie!

Re: Sad News...

Oh my - that is sad news.

I almost got to meet him in January this year when I was on a trip to New Orleans. Unfortunately, the only day I had open was the day he was preparing to take some of his images to a showing in Baton Rouge to sell and raise money for ALS. I do hope those images sold well.

He was definitely a gentlemen and an amazing photographer.
