HX100V some more for your Delectation.

Shot in somewhat harsh sunlight, soon be summer and some more flowers are apearing,
Rose slight crop.

Shot at full zoom, it was very windy, in fact wind was blowing hard.

another full zoom, i saw this plane overhead pointed the camera and shot the one, did not time to even track AF.

Macro.

Forgot name of this flower.

You cannot beat a nice pair, of oranges

Alan.

great pictures, thanks for sharing. Apologies for asking, I am new to the forums but am looking to buy the hx100v and am having real trouble (even from Sony UK) in pinning down when it will be readily available here in the UK. The only answer i hear is "soon", and I understand that certain Jessops branches have had some stock, your images and feedback from your experiences have convinced me that I definitely want to purchase this model (having tried similar offerings from panasonic etc). Does anyone have any further information about this model? thanks for any help anyone can give.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, I was lucky because i kept an eye on jessops and other online stores about a month ago, to my surprise jessops had 125 in stock just delivered in which 75 were pre-orders.

So i guess i was one of the lucky ones, only by chance ringing them up to confirm they had them.

I do know also they have them in stock where i live, as i was in the store a week ago and they had one on show. Pot luck i guess as sonysyle dont have them yet, you could ring around Jessops and see.

Alan. Good luck

Re: HX100V some more for your Delectation.

Alan - you used to own the the Olympus epl1 100-300mm lens for birding. Surely you wouldn't take the Sony HX100v over that combination. Is it something else besides the image quality. I would have thought the image quality of m/4/3 cameras with bigger sensors would be better. No.

I was wanting to try the HX100v when I could get one, but if I can't was also thinking of the Olympus Epl2 and Pana 100-300mm lens for birding. What can you tell me from your experience with both. Thanks.

yes the i did have the Olympus, but dont miss it, the HX100V is one of the best cameras i have had in 20 years, i have taken over 4000 images the carl zeiss has just blown me away IQ A1.

Both good, but for all round, and zoom i would not hesitate in the HX100V, no lens change no dust on sensor to worry about, 99% keepers, for me it has been a long time coming but i really rate the HX100V as excellent, see my pbase site regards Alan.
