X100 firmware update

They are quick
just received this regarding issues I bought up with fuji uk over focusing

Sorry for the delay. We have just had confirmation that our office in Japan have been made aware of this as an issue and are looking into it as a matter of urgency. The problem which you describe should be fixable by simply upgrading the firmware.

I have been informed that a new firmware version will be released late next week (please keep an eye on our website) which should resolve the problem which you are experiencing.

regards/

Re: X100 firmware update

Would you give a few details of the issues you brought up to Fuji.

Re: X100 firmware update

I could but it would take a lot of explanation. Basically there are serious inaccuracies in the focus bar and they way it behaves in different modes + the DOF display. I spent about half an hour on the phone with a technician at fuji Uk explaining it to him while he had an X100 in his hands and could reproduce all the faults that I was finding. they immediately emailed the results to fuji japan who look like they are resolving the issues. I'm impressed

That is great. Thanks for pursuing it with them.

Silver lining.

I guess the silver lining in my case and others, who are still waiting for their cams, is that the bugs will be worked out. Thanks for the update, sounds like Fuji is really trying hard to keep this a success under what are likely very difficult circumstances.

You didn't happen to mention the screwy ISO menu system did you?

Re: X100 firmware update

Yes I did and I was told that fuji are aware of these issues but they didn't know if this would be dealt with in this update
