Journey to the West Coast (4 Images)

Hi, all, and a belated Happy New Year! I finally managed to go on a small vacation toward the end of last year and just got finished processing yesterday, so I figured I'd share. It appears that the DA 12-24 earned its place in the camera-bag. As always, comments are welcome. All post-processing was done in Lightroom.

Beautiful images! Looks like Pt. Reyes or Dillon Beach area for the coastline shot? You have some definite wall art with these..thanks for posting.

Awesome stuff, thanks for sharing. Wish my stuff looked a tenth as good as this!

Any PP tips you want to share?

BTW, you have me considering Multnomah Falls as a weekend trip destination now... it's a mere 5 hours down the road from me... Wonder when the best time of year to go is.

Great images as always .....

I have a Sigma 10-20mm which I love - so I think I will work a little more on my PP rather than invest in the 12-24mm!

Re: Journey to the West Coast (4 Images)

Thanks to all who commented!

It is indeed a spectacular part of the world, and after seeing SO many incredible shots posted here, particularly of the Mt. Hood area (cough, cough), I was determined to use my measly one week of vacation to see as much of it as I could.

I would be happy to post about the post-processing, but as they were all processed quite differently (especially the IR shot), could you say which one or ones you're most interested in? Then I could be as specific as possible.

Re: Journey to the West Coast (4 Images)

Ms McCall,

I really look forward to your posting. It's worth the wait.

1 Dramatic Lighting!

2 Kinda makes me think of an Irish coast - Blue/Green tones.

3 Classic look, somewhat like photos take in the 1920s.

4 Exquisite Lighting - can you please share your PP method? I would really like to see this in print! My monitor probably does not do it justice.

I like them all specially #4... Great Pictures!

Re: Journey to the West Coast (4 Images)

Thanks for offering. I'm most interested in the PP used for shot No. 3, the waterfall shot. Would also like to learn about No 4.

Re: Journey to the West Coast (4 Images)

another for the waterfall. I like how there is still some texture in the water. Often people use such a long exposure that all texture is blurred out . I like this better.
