Thank you so much for the nice comments....and here is a picture from the movie taken with a Zeiss 85mm lens..............(kidding of course ;-))

I'm curious to know why a Zeiss? Is it significantly better than the Canon offerings, and if so, how?

Hi,
the Canon 24mm is a great lens.

But I also really like the Zeiss offer because of the reasons below (it's my personnal opinion in here of course

  • These lenses are super sharp

  • Almost no aberration or distortion in the whole frame (center and side of the frame have almost no distortion from some tests I've made with movie cinematographers)

  • The barrel have a hard stop (better when you use a follow focus)

  • The barrel have a long course (better for follow as well and more precise)

  • It's manual (when you do movie, you just never use any auto focus function)

  • It's built like a tank...(ok, the Canon USM II L serie is also

  • It's fast! f.1.4 allow me to make difficult shot possible...I love it

Absolutely first class the whole way. I'm blown away by this work. To say you have amazing talent is an understatement. Very well done, and thank you putting both videos up.

Please post more details!

As nuch as the 7D can be a great video camera and do professional work for a small fraction of the cost of a commercial video camera, I know that using it for this movie took a lot of work and even more skill. I've love to see more of how you did this, and how you did the post-production work.

Excellent videography!

That storyline deserves a full-length movie!
