lx3 I need a zoom

lx3 I need a zoom

I have had a racing pigeon my roof for two days my wife made me go up on a ladder to see if i could get him but to no avail but i had to shoot him ????? its the first time i wish i had a zoom

I wonder if there are enough numbers on the leg bands in #2 for some local pigeon fancier to identify the bird?

yes I managed to see enough to work out it comes from ireland i have given him some food and water hope he flies off soon thanks erik lee

Images 2 & 3 are great shots lee.

Image one is superb! Alfred Hitchcock would never, ever, have directed a better shot. You’re on a roll; here is yet another one of your images to haunt me.

thanks digby I got a choice to make get something with longer reach to go with my lx3 or carry a 16 foot ladder around with me its a hard decision to make cheers lee

Indeed, the shots look awesome. Can't really see how a zoom would have improved them

But would you have gotten such nice perspective on these shots with a zoom? I know what you mean, Lee. I often lament the fact that my LX3 doesn't have more of a zoom, but when I get off my butt and get up closer to my subject, I often don't regret doing so. Except for that time I tried to use it to shoot a grizzly at Glacier.

yea i think i would have lost my head with the grizzly Daniel. that's the trouble with the lx3 you are all ways looking for more detail but i ll find a back up soon thanks daniel lee
