Pouch case for Canon S90

Hi,

I recently picked up a Canon S90 and am looking for a suitable pouch case with a belt clip. I previously had the Canon Ixus 750 and used the Lowepro Rezo 15 case which i really liked because I could attached it to my belt and then quickly access the camera by lifting the front flap, great for grabbing that quick shot.

Upon getting my S90 I bought the Rezo 20 but the design is different! the main camera compartment is accessed via a zip and I don't find it half as convenient.

This is the Rezo 15 so you some idea what I am looking for:

This the Rezo 20 (main compartment at back with zip):

Any suggestions on a good case with a belt loop/clip and a simple velcro flap to access the camera is much appreciated. Also I'm in the UK so need to be able to get it here!

Thanks,

Ed.

Re: Pouch case for Canon S90

Im looking in to one of the the Kata pouches.

http://www.kata-bags.com/kbc.asp?SRC=NewBc/index.asp?Bc=2&DealerField=

Im hoping the first one will work. The S90 is listed as fitting.

EDIT: Apparently the internal pockets 1" width is going to be a bit small for the S90.
Im going to get one and see for myself.

Re: Pouch case for Canon S90

Hi,

This looks good - do you know if it's a good fit for the S90? From the dimensions it looks like it could be a tight fit.

Also the only UK dealer I can find is: http://www.crazycameras.co.uk does anyone have any experience of shopping with them? Are they reliable?

Thanks for the suggestion.

For anyone interested in buying a Tenba Mixx Medium Pouch case in the UK, you can order direct from Profoto ( http://www.tenba.com/InternationalDealers.aspx )

I've ordered one which should be arrive shortly - Cost is about £14 including delivery.

Also found a review of the case using a S90 here: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?p=8887996

Cheers,

Ed.

Re: Pouch case for Canon S90

Your S90 will fit in your Rezo 15, so you could just use that-that is what I did before I used my new case

Alternatively I have a Lowepro Terraclime 10 which is a perfect snug fit and does have a belt loop
I like it

Re: Pouch case for Canon S90

Hi Helen,

Does it really fit in a Rezo 15? I sold the Rezo 15 when I sold my old Canon Ixus 750. Is it a tight squeeze?

Thanks,

Ed.

Re: Pouch case for Canon S90

I bought the Lowepro Hipshot 20 at Staples and I carefully cut off the pull string top flap. The top flap made it difficult to slip the camera back into the pouch. Without that flap this is a wonderful, slim case for the S90. No room for anything but the camera. Here is the link...

http://products.lowepro.com/product/Hipshot-20,2133,25.htm

I have another bag that will attach on my belt and will hold a battery and extra SD card, but I find myself consistently using the Hipshot 20.

Re: Pouch case for Canon S90

I've got the REZO15 and a few others for my Elphs but picked up the REZO30 for the S90. The zippered main compartment is accessed separately from the front Velcro'd flap where the extra battery and memory card is stored.

Here's a shot showing both my current S90 and G11 set ups.

Here's the S() set up by itself:

And here it is with the contents packed away.

Crazy Cameras are excellent. They deliver quickly and seem very efficient. I have not however returned anything so have no knowledge of how they deal with that side.

Re: Pouch case for Canon S90

I have the Rezo 20 which fits well and can accommadate a spare battery and SD Card. The camera fits into a separate rear compartment which has to be unzipped each time. That confuses me sometimes as my fist move when getting the camera out is usually to pull up the front flap which closes over the compartment for the battery/card.

It has a sliplock belt loop so you don't have to undo your belt to put it on or take it off. If you wear it on the left side you'll know what I mean.

There are two zippers so you can adjust them for the position of the wrist strap.

If you want to carry the camera in your pocket I can recommend a Tucano second skin but his has no place for a battery or card and has no belt loop - velcro closure. It is however of very thick neoprene and one has a bit of confidence in case of accident. My wrist strap (Optech) sits nicely out of the top left side when closed.

Alternately a Lowepro D Wrap - a tight fit (a bit too much so as you'll battle to close it). However in time it'll stretch (?). You'll have to take it off the camera if you want to use a tripod. The sides are open but the package is smaller (slightly) than the Tucano.

Very often I ask my 'better half' to carry the spare battery/card. Bear in mind a case that is too tight might wear the finish on the corners.

Horses for courses and I change the pouch according to the occasion.

Re: Pouch case for Canon S90

At Jessops I tried the Lowepro 20 (leather). Fits the S90 even with the R.Franiac grip. Has a space for a spare card but not for battery. Has a belt loop - cannot remember if it has a slip lock. Very smart looking.

Re: Pouch case for Canon S90

My other pouch by the way is the D-Pods 20 by Lowepro. It has a velcro belt flap which is great for putting it on and off a belt. I also has room for a spare card or two and a spare battery. These two Lowepro cases are all I need. I have several Lowepro cases for other cameras and must say they hold up extremely well.

Tamrac's 5686 Ultra-compact Digital case also fits the s90, including Richard Franiec's grip. Looks similar to the Rezo 15... has a belt loop It's not too tight and has a small pocket for another memory card or maybe a spare battery (I haven't checked the battery fit yet).
