T2i more high ISO

Just received my T2i today. Decided to take the obligatory high ISO shots. Some of my soon to be sold T1i. Taken with 17-55mm in fairly low light.

ISO 1600

ISO 3200

ISO 6400

Looks good to me so far.

Re: T2i more high ISO

Sure. Can do it this evening when I get home from work. Might repeat the t2i pics so they are taken in the same light.

If those are out of cameras images, they're insanely clean...

T2i vs T1i

T1i actually held it's own pretty well. Nice to have usable ISO 6400 on T2i though.

T1i ISO 1600

T2i ISO 1600

T1i ISO 3200

T2i ISO 3200

T2i ISO 6400

Re: T2i vs T1iNoise reduction settings

Thanks for the photos the T2 sure does look good better than my 50D noise wise.

Were the camera on the standard noise reduction setting?

Thinking of getting back a T2 as both my kids will take photography next semester in high school Sept.

If canon ever releases a 60D I would sell my 50D. If not T2 it is.

Thanks

I don't get it? When the T1i was realeased a good portion of the poster on this forum trashed it, saying the sensor had too many pixels and was too noisy, now that the T2i is released with even pore pixels, every one is singing high praises about its low light capabilities, but yet the above samples show that there is very little difference, I posted in another thread samples that I took with a T2i and aT1i at a electronics store that showed very little difference. Don't get me wrong, I was really hoping for a big improvement in high ISO and I would have upgraded, I am just not seeing it yet though.

Re: T2i vs T1i

HI,
can you please enable ISO 6400 in T1i and snap a photo as well.
Also, if you be so kind compare both cameras with ISO 12800?
THANK YOU!

Re: T2i vs T1iNoise reduction settings

There has been no major improvement in sensor technology. Remember people on here are "fanatical" - any difference gets multiplied.

Also, these pics are probably downsized (not full res crops). If so, note that any decent camera would look good...and what was the shutter speed. If there is a good light, high ISO shots look decent. In low light is when you see lots of nosie.

Re: T2i vs T1iNoise reduction settings

Shutters speeds were as follows, cameras were on aperture priority f/3.5

T2i ISO 6400 - 1/30

T2i ISO 3200 - 1/15

T2i ISO 1600 - 1/8

T1i ISO 3200 - 1/15

T1i ISO 1600 - 1/8

Compared to XSi

Just curious as to how this compares to the XSi since that is what I have now.

I just took a shot with it in relatively low light at 1600 ISO (its highest) with my 2.8 macro lens and examined the noise, and it really wasn't that bad. Probably comparable to the T1i and T2i. So I guess the big addition would be the higher ISOs.

If it's a Single Lens Reflex, why do I need so many lenses?

Re: T2i vs T1iNoise reduction settings

Really? Don't forget these images are reduced in size to something close to a 1mp camera

50D - ISO2000, (100-400mm) 400mm - 100% crop, default settings in real world conditions, subject distance approx 15 metres away
