E-P2 EVF and Voigtlander 50mm f1.1

Because of the clarity of the EVF on the E-P2, I've found using manual focus lenses has become quicker and easier.

Both shots were taken with a Cosina Voigtlander 50mm f1.1 Nokton, fitted to the camera with a Novoflex leica m mount > m4/3 adapter. I like the way that the images "snap" into focus in the EVF. I rarely need to go to the 2nd level of magnification & indeed its sharp enough to use with no magnification at all.

I use a lot of adapted MF and legacy lenses on m4/3 and the E-P2 has just become my camera of choice to use them on.

E-P2 vs G1 for MF?

Hi,

I'm currently using a GF1 and not very happy with using the LCD for MF. Would you know how the E-P2 EVF compares to the G1 in this respect?

I find the EVF on the E-P2 is sharper and clearer than the G1/GH1 finders. Both of those cameras have excellent EVF's, but the new Olympus has the edge for me.

Focusing lenses manually is a real test of how good EVF's are, and I find it easier to achieve perfect manual focus with the E-P2 than with any other camera I've used.

Really ? I thought the higH-res GF1 was very good, although I still had to magnify it.

The only thing I don't like is that I have to have the LCD at arm's length, as I can't see so well near anymore.

The EP2 EVF is fantastic, though, and makes my GF1's (or E-P2's) LCD view look tiny in comparison. This is because EVF is already magnified, and as a result 90% of the time I don't need the magnify feature (which will just slow one down while shooting).
