I would also be very interested in some images.

It would be nice to see some other images than the ones on the ebay site. Since the images there are taken with a shallow DOF, you can't really tell how some parts of the skin look like. And also GF1 skins in grey/silver, white and red bodies would be nice.

I have the leatherette one and highly recommend it

Thanks. But I would be more interested in the SGP skin guard. The texture and the cut in aki asahi does not please my eye. And I don't really care if it covers the logos or not…

If you dont like opinions, then dont ask for them!

I dont really care for the ebay cheapo one you mention, looks a bit tacky...not pleasing to my eye. And I dont really care whether you care or not.

I was simply giving you another option, stick it (not on the camera though).

The previous poster has shown it on silver, and I think the pics speak for themselves, a cheap tacky copy of the aki-asahi one, probably suit you down to the ground.

err.. yikes!

I'm not really sure why you got so mad about his statement, I personally didn't think it was rude.

That said I paid $4 more for the asahi one because the ebay one's looked very thin and sort of 'cheap' to me.

To the OP - you can see pics of the one mentioned close up should you choose in my thread.. there are more pics down the line with better light that show more.

Re: err.. yikes!

Applogies, probably a bit harsh, but to compare the two is also a bit silly.

The asahi is a very very good skin, the other one looks like a cheap copy, and is hardly a skin when it comes in so many sections. The asahi meets in the middle and looks like it was meant to be there.

I saw a post on the FredMiranda forums where the user got the Aki-Asahi kit and sliced off the top quarter inch before applying it:
http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/837058/0

I think, with the silver GF1, slicing off the top quarter inch (or both the top and bottom quarter inch) of either the Aki-Asahi or SGP skin would give a more "classic" look similar to the E-P1 kit from Aki-Asahi:

There's also a gorgeous real leather kit for the E-P1 from Korean leatherworker JnK (which includes a lenscap piece with the old gilt 'F'):

[Of course, I'm just peeved that the silver E-P2 isn't available in the US ... not that it would make my decision any easier ]

Does JnK have an English language section of their Web site? I am unable to find it, and they do not list everything on their site on that well-known auction site...

I like the leather skins they display, though, I suspect they are very expensive....

To bring this thread back on topic, I posted the link for the SGP skin on this thread, it looks really nice (but the same photos for the most part).

I haven't found any English on their site so, other than finding a Korean friend to translate, it looks like your only option is via eBay (although, having someone who speaks Korean, maybe convince JnK to start producing GF1 skins)

I like the leather skins they display, though, I suspect they are very expensive....

The skins themselves run US$30 for regular leather, US$40 for special leather ...

thank you. I broadened my search ("JnK-" from "Jnk-Handworks") and found the leather, but not the lizard skins...

The product images of SGP give me a better impression, but they are so polished that I would like to hear some first hand experiences.

Apologies noted. I also don't like the fact that the SGP is cut into so many pieces. Not sure about the quality since there is not that many people who have this skin. On the silve body the SGP didn´t look so good. That's why I'm asking for personal accounts on the SGP. How well it fits and does it peel off and etc…

I think I will buy a SGP and see how it works. It is more discreet.

Let us know how it works. I´ll be out of town for a few weeks so can't really buy one yet…

What color is your GF1?

Re: err.. yikes!

My GF1 is black. I ordered the SGP skin from ebay, but it is being mailed from Korea. Probably 10-14 days since I only paid for surface mail.

Re: GF1 skin anyone seen or tried

Well, my SGP Deepblack skin arrived today, and I just applied it on my GF1 ... I gotta say, I love it. I chose the SGP skin over the Aki-Asahi because I liked the texture better, and I like that it's thinner ...

However, thinner does not mean that it's a weak flimsy sticker. It is in fact very stiff and tough. I tried to tear one of the discarded portions with no success ... LOL ... trying to scratch it with my finger nails and it still looks fine ...

Also, I should note that I got this skin mainly for aesthetic purposes. If I wanted protection, I would have just used gaffer tape ..
