Photos (5) - Richard Franiec S90 Grip

‘Twas the night before Christmas – at least in Hong Kong – and I thought I would show you one of Leela’s gifts.

Over the past year, I’ve noticed that when we go out I have to ask if she has her G9 with her and she finally admitted that she’s getting tired of its size and weight – she’s not a very large person on the outside.

So I bought her the Canon S90 – and since our two G9s and my Sigma DP2 have Richard’s grips, I ordered his grip for this slick (literally) little camera. It makes a huge difference in handling and I thought you might like to see some photos that I took this afternoon.

Don

Great shots. Very professional looking. Richard should use these for Promotion of the Grip. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Ansonn

Re: Photos (5) - Richard Franiec S90 Grip

I just got my grip and it was easy to attach and certainly feels secure. The S90 is much easier to hold now. By the way the grip arrived very quickly after ordering with excellent seller communication.

Mine is aligned just as in you photos. Not 100% flush with the bottom of the camera but up the very slightest bit. If I didn't tell anyone they would be certain it was part of the camera when purchased.

As noted by others in earlier threads the grip actually makes the small Olympus (the label can be removed) case an even better fit. Available at Best Buy for $13 dollars. I cannot imagine a better fitting case.

Great shots of the grip. I highly recommend it.

Merry Christmas 2009.

This camera is more slippery then a bar of soap. I was scared to death to use it for fear of dropping it. Got the grip yesterday and felt secure enough to use it all day today...now it's a great camera!!! Thanks Richard for making this camera even better!!!

Ansonn,

You are absolutely correct.

Don can make much better photos with his G9 than I could with my full frame cam LOL.

Merry Christmas

Re: Richard Franiec S90 Grip

that grip makes a huge difference in the little S90 for me as i can stop worrying about holding it. it looks like it was born there as well with that great fit & i also like the way it guides my snap finger right towards the shutter release. i am also enjoying that viewer thingy as well as i just miss using a viewfinder - it is well made too. now to find a case that will fit those 2 permanent add ons. best regards, jack

I've just received my S90 grip and it is gorgeous. While I have no doubt that Mr Franiec has provided a suitable sticky tape to hold this on my S90, I must admit I am tempted to glue it on permanently! Anyone out there who has done this and if so, what glue?

Cheers,

Burundanga

VHB adhesive used on S90 grip is possibly the best medium for application available today.

There is absolutely no need for fear that grip will come off or shift the position on its own. It will not happen.

On the other hand the grip can be removed when needed or necessary using proven and safe methods.

Cheers

Please... save yourself the trouble. This grip isn't going anywhere once it's applied. You can get it off -- and safely, without damage to the camera -- but you won't want to... it's that firmly affixed.

Just apply the grip with the tape and be happy. What, you think the designed and manufacturer of the grip is going to give you poor tape?

Never happen.

Don

I ordered a grip for my wife's camera on 16th, to Australia took 8 days to arrive on the 24th - fantastic just in time for our departure in three days to see Japan's Cherry blossom fesitval. Haven't used it yet - applied minutes ago - but appreciating the finish/colour match to the S90.

Re: Photos (5) - Richard Franiec S90 Grip

Richards Grip for the S90 is an absolute "MUST HAVE". It ads very little bulk and is not intrusive at all. You can gain an additional full stop because it allows for a much steadier grip.
