Yahoo sports photos exif show 1DMK IV !

Just an FYI, At Yahoo.com - sports - football, the Green Bay vs Chicago gallery shows exif as a 1DMK IV. There may be some other games shot with MK IV's but I didnt have time to look at all of the exif data.

I am not set up to read the exif data and am not the best to comment on the quality of the pics like some of you true sports photogs are. But I love the picture of the deflated bear! Not the best example of capturing action. But so fitting given the result of the game. I also liked the pics of Cutler walking off the field deflated. For those of you who are NFL fans I'm from Denver.

Thanks for the tip. They look pretty good, too! Highest ISO I saw was 800 though :/ But some crisp shots at f/2.8.

I would doubt the NFL shooters would be using very high iso. The games are lit pretty well for tv etc. I think most usually use 1600 or so with 2.8 lenses. I'm sure we'll see a bunch of shots from the new camera soon since it's suppose to be release this month.

regardless of the ISO used, this is a good test of AF performance. Now if they would just lift the NDA's so we can hear what they all think.

Thanks

Must have been an under expose the Bear's jersey test, or I need to turn up the brightness on my LCD.

Thanks for the heads up.

I appreciate the heads up...

Almost every photo of the Bears vs. Packers game was shot with the 1D IV according to the exif's. The shots look great. Pretty encouraging!

Re: I appreciate the heads up...

They do look good, but give some of the credit to the 400 f2.8 ... it's hard not to have a great shot with that big gun!

Easy way to see EXIF data.

-Right mouse click, save image to local hard drive.
-Once saved, on local drive, right mouse click, pick properties.
-In properties dialog box, select summary tab, then advanced.

Then you will see the EXIF that says MK IV.

An easier way. google opanda exif and you can download a free exif extractor. then all you have to do is right click an image and if the exif is there, you will see it all. No need to download an image.

for those using a Mac: open image with Preview then "Tools" ---> "Show Inspector"---> "Exif"

Re: Thanks

I noticed that too, but I also noticed it on many non-IV pics on the site. So it might be that THEY need to turn their brightness down
