what is a very good, durable, and stable tripod??

i was gana go for the manfrotto 055xprob tripod with the 488rc2 tripod head... but someone mentioned to drop the manfrotto and go with some other brand...

what brand is good and i can use a L-plate??

i heard really right stuff is good, with tripods, L-plates, and tripod heads...

and cheap... not looking for tripods over $300

thanks for your help.

I LOVE Induro. I would pay at least twice the cost new. I have an Induro tripod and monopod and have used them in sand, water, mud....etc. Nothing stops them.

RRS is a GREAT product, but pricey. I have the RRS MH-01 monopod head, and a few other RRS producst as well.

Here's my vid with an Induro Tripod and Manfrotto 3421 head:

Hey Colin, I had watched a couple of your videos, have seen that one too, and I've seen that you have still some others. I will watch them when I have time; I find them very illustrative, good resources.
Good job!

Hi,

I have exactly the combo you mention, 055XPROB + 488RC2. I love it, it is a very stable setup, it can hold quite a weight, you can flip the centre column horizontal which is very handy, and it is big so I usualy do not have to raise the centre column, which contributes to stability.

Downsides may be the weight but carbon tripods will costs you more than your budget allowes.

Easily recommended!

I've been the happy owner of a Feisol CT-3342 for about two month. I mostly use it with a Jobu BW mkII Light Weight to support my 40D (and grip) and 400mm f/5.6 L. I couldn't be happier - I upgraded from a appr. 14 years old ALU Manfrotto 055 + a 393 head. The Feisol/Jobu is about 1.8 kg total. My old rig was between 2 and 3 times as much. And the Feisol/Jobu is more stable. I used to hate taking the Manfrotto with me. I actually enjoy taking and using the Feisol/Jobu.

I don't know if Feisol has someone selling their product in Spain, but the have in the UK: http://www.feisoluk.com . I haven't tried using them (I got mine from a Danish web-store), but since both Spain and UK are in the EU, getting the tripod from UK shouldn't be too different from getting it from someone in Spain.
Thanks for the tip, Littlefield.

One thing worth to keep in my mind, though, is which of all of these tripods are actually available in Spain. I'm not used to buy a lot of stuff via internet (except books and non-expensive stuff...).

Thanks

I'll vote for this combo, too. Since this is what I got :-)

I may not be reading the post correctly but are you asking for suggestions about buying a tripod + head + L bracket for $300 US? Last time I looked an L bracket was $125 - 180 and a decent ball head with quick release was well over $200. You might want to save your money until you can afford a good set up or opt for an inexpensive tripod and head like the Manfrotto until you have the $500-1000 for carbon fiber + RRS or Kirk ball head + L Bracket.

i know that an L-plate is more than a $100, i was looking for tripods and ball heads... then later ill get the L-plate.

if he wanted to spend 500-1000 does he really need an advise..he goes to the store ask for the best buy it and leaves the store.

but to find a good tripod with a budget is not easy but not impossible... who said he wants a carbon fiber tripod??

Another vote for Feisol. It is CF, light, and their heads are a great value. I spent about $330, if I remember well for the legs plus the head, and I have been using them for almost two years, very happy.
