Can't Sell the GH1! (pics)

Recently I decided that I had to sell my GH1 in order to make some $$$ for my new GF1. After spending a weekend with the GH1 + 14-140mm I can no longer part with it. The sensor / camera / lens combo is just too sweet!

Thanks for looking!

These are excellent. What a lovely place to go and enjoy hiking and photography. I would think that most people would sell their G1s and upgrade to the GH1, as it is much more functional and not that much heavier to take along on such hikes.

Thanks Richard,

The reason I wanted to sell was for the smaller form of the GF1. I really wish the GF1 had the sensor from the GH1 and not the G1 but maybe there's a good reason? (Does anyone know why it doesn't?) The G1 sensor isn't bad, it's just not quite as good as the GH1 IMHO and I've owned and used both.

Nice shots!

I could see buying the GF1 as a supplemental body, but there's no way I'd sell the GH1 for it!

Good decision. In my view, the GH1 offers much more than either the GF1 or the EP1. And, it's not that much bigger.

Are you crazy? :-o
The difference in size is ridiculous.
You have a better sensor.
You have an extraordinary EVF.
You have a tilt & swivel LCD.
Forget the GF1 and get the 20mm F1.7 instead or some manual focus relics!

with your photographic skill,

I don't think it matters what camera you use. Nice pictures.

Other than size, Gf-1 is a downgrade from GH1 in many areas. Why not just get the 20mm f/1.7 lens.

Re: with your photographic skill,

Thanks! I only want the GF1 for the size. In every other respect I like the GH1 better. For some more extreme trips I will bring the GF1 but for most other trips I'll 'suffer' through the size of the GH1.

Re: with your photographic skill,

Those are gorgeous images. I envy you for the lovely countryside that surrounds you--and the fact that you get to photograph all of this natural richness with a camera like the GH1, which seems so ideally suited to your purposes.

I already own a G1 and 14 to 45 and 45 to 200 lenses. Some weeks ago, I put in pre-orders for both the GH1 w/ 14-140 lens and the GF1 w/ 20 f/1.7, rather passively intending to let fate decide which one I got to keep. Thank goodness, B&H delivered the GH1 and the 14-140 a few days ago. Who knows when Amazon will be able to deliver the GF1?

After shooting with the GH1, there's no way I would ever swap the GH1 for a GF1 body. The size and weight differences do NOT, in my mind, constitute adequate reason to keep a GF over the GH. I wouldn't mind having the 20mm pancake, but forced to choose between the two bodies, there's no contest.

Not only are we talking about the better sensor, the superior video capability, the articulated LCD and the vastly superior EVF, but the GH1 offers better capability for confirming critical focus when using "legacy" telephoto primes and telephoto zooms in MF mode.

your one and only option is...

to buy the GF1+20mm. you can use GF1+14-140mm or GH1+20mm...sweeet!!!
