Thanks for posting, Kevin. Every bit of video helps to see what the camera can do.

Check the cleanliness of your sensor

Kevin,

Thanks for posting these videos. I've had a D90 since January, but haven't been interested in trying the video feature.

In two of the videos, ones where the sky was shown quite a bit, I saw a dark blob just north of center. Check to see if that appears when shooting stills. Your sensor may need cleaning. Be sure you set the sensor cleaning feature in the camera to work when you turn it off and on.

Good luck with the D300s.

Re: Great stuff (n/t)

I think to really show what this camera can do you gotta go extreme. You need to put it in an underwater housing and shoot WIDE or shoot with a prime lens like a 1.2/1.4 not a 2.8. I understand the video is new and people want to see what it looks like but it's not any different than the D90 video at all. I've been using my D300s a bit now and hopefully will have some video stuff up soon. Showing a video with everything sharp (f8 or more) looks no different than a normal camcorder. Let's see some crazy DOF and extreme lens usage (macro, lens baby, panning 70-200 at 2.8)!

You will be a pro soon with this camera.

Try moving around a lot slower. The images should move by itself, not by moving the camera. Check real life examples from pros. Panning goes very slowly.
If you have a Mac you can improve the shaking by using iMovie.
See you in Hollywood...
