I got my K-7

Just got home from Yodobshi Camera, unpacking now.

The following were taken with my K20, camera flash on, Jpeg, straight from camera.

Will post some shots soon.

Anybody has any clues where I can upload some RAWs and uncompressed video? Im thinking rapidshare..

Re: I got my K-7

Kit lens 18-55 WR

now i changed to my 35 F2.8 Limited.

Unfortunately I got interrupted by some family issues (what were the chances, huh?), plus some technical dificulties (my usb got fried apparently).

So far an unpleasant surprise: i had difficulties pulling out the card from the camera. Maybe I was jsut nervous.

Didnt take a good look at the pictures yet.

It's probably like the K200D, that's why I prefer the old K10D/K20D system for removing the card.

Anyway, this is great news and a chance that I'll get my own K-7 very soon, yeah!

Congrats on the new K7. I tried a demo camera today and it feels superb to handle.

Re: I got my K-7

Me too!

(With FA limited 31mm.)

Just "upgraded" from a Canon 350D.

Pros:

  • Better fit in my hands. (Going back to the Canon, the grip feels cramped.)

  • Much nicer view finder. (How did I survive with that small Canon thing before.)

That's it
I'll need to spend some time to make the most of it, I guess.

Cons:

  • Heavy! With the 31mm lens, it feels similar to the 350D plus Tamron 17-50, except the balance is different. But compared to my 350D + 50mm 1.8, the K-7 + 31mm feels like a tank.

  • Blurry! The SR works fine, if you give it time. But it caused a few of my plain daylight pictures to get blurred.

  • Noisy focus. Well, at least at home. Not so much of an issue in the street.

  • Slow focus. Feels a lot slower to lock a target - again, many missed shots because of that.

I used the K-7 mostly as a point and shoot today. All auto all the time. Just get familiar with the handling.

Many more cons that pros right now. But I expect the pros will win in the long term.

Re: I got my K-7

Yes feels great to handle! The new WR lens feels very solid. The big screen is awesome!
i preffer the old door instead of the new the rubber cover for the USB/HDMI

Too bad it's dark arleady, and cant take any pictures outside, I dont have the tripod with me either. My hands are pretty shakey after the binge drinking from last night...

If only I would have woken up earlier today, and went to the shop. I wasnt expecting to buy find it, but they probably had a large stock. I saw 2 other guys buying it while i was in the shop (which was around 5 minutes).
Here are some more shots.

In what respect?

The noise seems to be about the same as the K20D to me but in other respects the images look good. The focus looks accurate on the DA35 images and I like the look of the color in some shots.

Dave.
