Sunpak 933?

Is anyone familiar with the Sunpak 933? I use it with my Minolta X-700 film camera. I bought them together used, and I don't have a manual for either. I was wondering if I could use it with my new E-10. Searches of all forums and the internet have not thurned up any specification on the 933. I remember reading something about high synch voltages possibly damaging the camera and I want to be sure I won't hurt the E-10 before I connect the flash.

Thanks

Re: Sunpak 933?

well the best thing to do is to test the voltage yourself

using a digital voltmeter, set it to the highest dc voltage setting to start with, turn on the strobe and get it ready to fire then touch the meter probes to the two terminals on the flash shoe, one in the center and one on the side, that way you know for sure.

Re: Sunpak 933?

WJ, I happen to have a 933 and have used it on occasion on my E10's over the past two years. Some fill usage and using it to kick some slaved strobes too. It is one of those handy little units that lays down in the bottom of the case somewhere, but is always ready to go. It works fine, measures out @ 7.65 DC volts. I wouldn't be concerned about any damage to the Exx. Regards, Jim N'AZ
