I'm going to go out on a limb and say with almost absolute certainty that this is the real deal. It's not at all unusual for photos to start leaking out this close to an official press release. Plus this fits nicely into all the recent rumors. From lens to the logo.

Is there a pop up flash under the hotshoe?

Awwww where is the orange?

Apart from that, cool that the mode selector does not protrude, very few buttons on top, compact lense at a respectable speed... and movie mode.

I am still keeping the fingers crossed for 1080 HD at a reasonable (panasonic GH1) quality... Love the retro design :)))

Re: Top side pic of E-P1

I have to say that I'm pretty jazzed about this new offering--but still holding my breath. I like the retro styling, and I really like the fact that a larger sensor than a usual PS camera is being used. Now, for me, it all hinges on the IQ, and the quality of lenses that are going to be offered. Are they just going to be consumer grade, or are they going to offer some really high-end glass for these cameras.

Get me pro level 17mm and 25mm, and 50mm primes with the IQ at least of the E3, and decent shutter response, and I think I'm all over this.

I think Olympus has taken a good approach by associating their m4/3 with the Pen series. It's another niche that no one else is really looking at, and just the sort of thing Olympus does better than anyone else.

only downside is that about .00001% of the population has ever heard of the Pen series so any association is lost on general public.

I bet it uses flash cubes!

Really getting nostalgic now...

.00001% would only be around 600-700 people. A think there are more than that...

2009, a good one for Olympus.

Looks real, all right.

The concept is perfect, though. A compact camera: combines the size and simple lines of a 35mm rangefinder with features of an slr.

Does not appear so. Maybe a new small dedicated flash rounds out the package.

Re: Looks nice, but the real question is...

... WILL IT BLEND?

If not, then I'm not interested.

But seriously, looks pretty darn good. And if it is metal, not plastic, then this little camera could be a real winner.
