Thanks, HD MOVIE is REAL AND HERE TO STAY

Love it. Dpreview forum has strikes again. That was the first real confirmation of HD movie mode on K7. I love it.

Look in the mirror chamber, and look how long the OVF assembly is. I am going to go off on a limb and bet the OVF IS a Hybrid EVF/OVF and can be switched back and forth by pressing the live-view button on the back. This will be ground breaking and truly set the K7 apart from any-other. Something in that mirror chamber is not normal?

Re: K-7 Real Image - New WR lens

Damn,

Was hoping for something close to the k20d size as its a perfect size.

Maybe use the K20d and k-7 as a backup.

Pentax is the famous camera-maker of compact SLR and DSLR.
K10D and K20D are a bit out of Pentax way.

Remember - Pentax had before only such DSLR - ist D/DS/DL, K100D. Small and compact.

I got no problem with smaller tho do agree that the K20 is pretty much perfect in the hand...

Also looks like possibility of AA battery back up

The photos came from this site:

Note that another one seems to suggest ability to use AA batteries (perhaps in the grip) too! Best of both worlds....

Anyone notice the filter size of the new 50-200 WR?

49mm - time to dig out all those old and cheap 35mm filters! Wonder if the 18-55 WR will also be 49mm?

weight balance question
-- hide signature --

49 mm lens diameter sort of suggests the body may be heavier than the lenses? I hate all the 'oh boy, we have made a 450g camera; it's the lightest!' then they plonk a honking great lens on front and suddenly the whole show is front heavy and unbalanced.

Don't know about you, but I prefer to find the weight back in my hand, in the camera
hope this is the case here

Small and compact.

Pentax has flipped and flopped in terms of size. They have had some small but also large series. EG PZ series were not small and compact.

MZ changed it back....

One of the pictures on this site seems to indicate one of the focus modes is face-detection. Anybody else see that?
