Pentax 60-250 SDM Samples

We have done two things today with the Pentax 60-250 SDM. One, I tested the lens on a tripod and now feel good about my first copy being a good one. The raw files can be downloaded below.

Two, because of a question in another thread I tried the 60-250 SDM on a MZ-5n and too my surprise there is no vignetting and the auto focus works. The only film I had available was Fuji 200. We uploaded some comparison files from the K20 DNG and the Fuji 200 film scanned in our Fuji Frontier SP2000.

The zip file ( 153MB) can be downloaded at http://www.contactphotoarts.com/emails/pentax_60_250.zip .

Re: Pentax 60-250 SDM Samples

Those look nice. I see no issue with using it on film, which still makes me wonder about Pentax's future plans regardless of what they have said. It would be a bit of an odd focal length on film, but I am sure no one would complain since it would be a bit like a 70-200 f/4 with a lot wider range

Thanks for taking the time to do those shots,

Eric

Those are good news! Thanks for taking time to do the tests.

Downloading the archive now... Were test shots on MZ-s taken wide open at both ends?

Thanks, Ilya.

Re: Pentax 60-250 SDM Samples

The film samples taken with the MZ-5n were at f4.5, this was the exposure that was displayed in the camera. Because the choice in shutter speed was 1/2000 or 1/1000 I couldn't get F4 with out under exposing. Bill

60mm?

I wasn't able to download the large file.

How is the FF performance at 60mm?
Can you show an image?
