Date time stamp - canon eos rebel

How do I turn on the date time stamp? I see the date / time on the menu, but nothing that says on or off.

There is no ON/OFF switch to imprint date/time on your shots.

When you set the date and time (should have been done when you did your original camera set-up), the camera keeps track and includes it in the EXIF data. But, there's no way to imprint it on your photos except by using 3rd party software.

I like the exif data much better, how many times it has happened to me that I forgot to adjust time/date settings after traveling through timezones!

There may be many ways to add it to your photos, but I've used Better Jpeg and it works well. It adds the date in any date format you want, font color, size, etc. and it's lossless.

From memory you can add it if you reduce picture size to 3mp?

I think...not sure.

At least on the Xsi (450D) that doesn't appear to be an option either via the menu screens or from the Owner's manual or David Busch's book.
Maybe on one of the earlier models??

NO date/time - that is good. This nonsens kills every picture.

All data included in EXIF you can - if necessary - print in picture f.e. with IRFANVIEW (free program)

Would someone with a Canon eos rebel 2000 please share what photos with the timestamp feature on would look like? Specifically, I'm looking for an example using the day/month/year format.
