Re: Battery for Panasonic FX150

Thank you Rossuziers for your advice on generic brand batteries. I purchased today a CTA brand which I remembered I used this brand before on flaslights and remotes. I always used the original batteries on my cameras, but these days, you have to save a buck when you can.

I do the same with memory cards too & have been for as long as I've been doing it with batteries & I've yet to have had a card fail too... Although NewEgg or Amazon are where I get the cards... EBay has had some forgery issues with some cards but there aren't the same types of savings on cards there neither...

Re: Battery for Panasonic FX150

I went to robgalbraith.com to check the different speeds of the cards and was a little surprised with the findings. I personally always used the Extreme Sandisk cards with excellent results, but I also paid higher prices for those cards.

I will let you know the results of using my new Panasonic FX150 when I receive it next week. I never had a camera by this brand, as I was always a big fan of Canon. I obtain great results with My Canon XSI, but let's face it I am not going to haul this big camera with an 18-55 mm 2.8 lens for any vacation or travel. I wanted a wide angle lens which is always great to have and had a difficult time deciding between the TZ5 and the FX150. I think that if Panasonic launches a new TZ with a larger procesor and excellent image quality, I will purchase it. I really will like to have a longer tele photo lens than the 28-100mm of the FX150. I shoot a lot of indoor images and the 2.8 lens at 28mm was also a deciding factor.

Thank you all for your help. I went with the TZ5. I should have it in a few days.

Congrats and have fun! Let us know how it goes. There are surprisingly alot of capabilities and options when you know how to use a TZ5, even though it doesn't have manual control. You can do a lot of creative things and (as some have stated previously) it is sometimes quite liberating to have a good P&S, that is compact and easy to carry around.
