Waterproof Compact Flash Card

Accidentally, my wife washed my jeans with a compact flash card in its pocket. When I realized that I forgot to take it out of the pocket, the jeans were already washed and dryed. I inserted the CF card in my camera and it still works and the images that I took were intact.

Why do the CF card stll working?
Is it safe to use it?
Will the water and heat damage the CF card with time?

Hello Aorc,

Water isn't a good conductor of electricity, but it does conduct electricity. Water, excluding salt water, doesn't necessarily ruin electrical components as long as they are thoroughly dried before electric current flows to it. Thank your dryer ! Ron
