Re: e-430 is it true?

If it would say something like E-350, I could have faith in it. But it sure does not look like it could be a E-4xx series design. But nice UFO cam.

I doubt it

(the flash join looks especially unlikely) but I hope so!

Re: e-430 is it true?

It's an ugly looking camera - but whether it's true or a spoof, who knows?

as far as it being ugly...

...I disagree. I think it looks great. BUTTTT I also love my E300!!!

Regarding this link, as was stated, if it had said E3xx, then I'd say it's likely true. We'll see.

unlikely

I am not 100% sure, but this image looks very familiar, posted a long time ago .. back then it was a spoof

and why would olympus drop the "smallest ever" dSLR body (e4xx) for this?

I'd think this could be an e3xx model.. who knows for now I call fake.

Re: size

For what ever it may be worth I compared the size to this "E-430" with the E-410 and it is just about the same width and slightly lower counting in the view finder hump of the E-410. So all in all assuming thickness is same about the size of the 400-series.

Still I think it highly unlikely that Oly would abandon the retro look of the 400-series bodies in favour for the slightly odd look of the 300-series.

But if this 300/400-series hybrid camera is real I'd buy it in a heart beat. I actually think it looks cool too And if it on top of that was weather sealed it'd be the fulfilment of all my dreams. (Oh, and hook onto it a new weather sealed ZD pancake prime....)

And as always, one is allowed to dream...

Maybe the number, E-430, comes from the hybrid design.

Well, fake or not...

...it is interesting.

It looks like it is smaller than the current 330, I don't know about the design, it looks like a melted 330... IMHO, if it were real, it should be called 340 rather than 430

I don't see anything obvious that indicates that it could be fake, 'leaked' photos of E-500 and E-330 were immediately written off as fakes, and this design intrigues me.
Update:
They seem to be close in size:

I was sure they were going to kill the 300 line

but a cross between the 410 and the 330, meaning a very small camera with proper Live View mode A, would get my money.

Re: size

It looks a bit boss eyed to me... the lens seems to be pointing one way, the body the other.

Re: Well, fake or not...

Looking at the two images, side by side, it looks like an obvious use of image deformation tool to me. All of the same lines are there, just stretched and skewed. The surface looks off as if it had been stretched also.

Looks fake to me - mainly just stretched in photoshop.

Olympus Logo

and e430 logo seem to be on an angle...not straight. I doubt if the branding guidelines call for this off horizontal approach.

No, it can't be true. The unwashed and old SLR fogies never accepted the E-330 design and that one they definitely won't. If it doesn't look like it uses film, the mob wants no part of it.

size comparison

I compared it through the size of the 50mm. A bit rough I admit but I really found it to be about the same dimensions as the 400-serier apart from obvious shape differences.

The coloured versions in the left down corner is on the 410 with the 430 in red and 330 blue.
