New EOS after all...

They told me not to tell, but I just couldn't resist. There will be a new EOS released at PMA after all. It will be placed above 40D, but it won't be exactly 5D's successor. And that's...

...a digital truth!

Who is they?

Y'know... the voices.

They're not on your side, by the way.

More than a few folks already know what the THAT is.

I don't personally know what the "that" is because (1) nobody of importance would tell me, (2) it really doesn't matter, and (3) I could care less. Besides, I'm far more interested in "what" will be announced that actually has noting to do with new camera bodies; now the "what", after the announcement, is the kicker that most folks will agree is significantly more important than any new camera body announcement.

The sales rep at my pro shop has said more or less the same thing.

Binary truth is just cozier...

... you know, yes or no, black or white, good or evil, canon or nikon, pc or mac, and on and on and on. Pick one and don't think about it anymore.

Re: New EOS after all...

ya my local shop told me the same thing when I tried to get the canon 5D. They rejected me outright saying it is discontinued and getting replaced in March. They never asked me to get anything else, just to wait for the replacement.

It is kind of "weird" to turn away a customer...

"say" something specific that may be a ....how should I say it.....a "hint", that when after it is released, everyone will know exactly what you were referring to in regards to it.. Like for example, when I dropped the hint about the 5D a few years ago prior to it's release.. I said it was going to have an obvious feature..(which was the 2.5" LCD on the back.... Some guy "Gotya" was his name...go figure.. claimed that he had the scoop on the "new camera", but he really didn't, and I sort of "outed him)..

I was later "pressed" into mentioning that I would be keeping my 20D bodies..(for the faster frame rate, and 1/250ths sync speed, and because they were cheap)...and that I would not buy a used 1Ds, but I would still get a 1DsMkII if I was interested in going that route.. That's because it was a nice camera, but it didn't have the 1DsMkII "blowing away" features..

I think you could come up with a few "hints" too, without blowing the gasket..

Whatever

Why would they wait until the end of the event to talk about a new camera, wouldn't they want to get it out at the start so people could actually see it?

If something does actually come out "in a few days" I'll send you an apology, for now this kind of "rumor" is just more smoke like the 20 others we have all read about the last month.

Black, but with a red pinstripe, right?

At the very begining, I found photography simple: Point the camera and push the button. After several weeks of practice, I discovered I could achieve even better results by turning the camera on and removing the lens cap.

As I said before...

It won't be like a 5D replacement. Think of it more like a direct hit to D300. It's just one step, not five, above 40D.
