K10D Irelands Causeway Coast

Here's a couple of images from last night.

Both K10D and 14mm DA.

The second is a 6 exposure HDR spanning 10 stops from inside a dark, dark cave.

Re: K10D Irelands Causeway Coast

Thanks guys,

There is still much pioneering to be done here so come on over. This cave for instance is only 5 minutes walk from the causeway which is photographed a thousand times a day. This cave however is equally impressive at 200 yards long and 40 feet high and according to google images has only been photographed twice!!

Here's the legend of the cave

There is a weird traditional story that Portcoon cave was occupied in the olden times by a gaunt hermit, who retired from the world with a vow that he would spend the remainder of his days on earth in prayer and fasting and that he would never accept food from human hands. Often was he tempted by women swimming in on the flowing tide who offered him food, but without avail. As the cold arms of death were almost clasping him in their last embrace from exhausting hunger a seal came into the cave with food in her mouth. With insinuating graciousness she invited him to partake of the food and live, as she had no human hands to tempt him to eat, and from that moment until his death the seal supplied him with a sufficiency of food for his simple life.

Thank you everyone for your very kind comments.

Oli, of course I will be out rain, hail or shine (or irish mist !). I put my middle digit up to the "golden hour". My first picture should be titled "the grey hour".

Wow, I like them both. You put the DA 14 mm lens to good use, and bring credit to it.
