AutoMeter IV-F is stuck. Known issue?

My AutoMeter IV-F doesn't respond to any button presses. It's just stuck there, displaying ISO 100 and shutter speed 1/60. Replacing the battery and leaving it out for a long period of time has no effect.

Is this a known issue? Anything to try besides sending the meter for service?

Thanks,

Prog.

If you look at it in a front view, u can notice a litle button on the meter´s head, close to the whithe ball at the 4 o´clock position. That button should blink the meter display when pressed, like a "reset". You can also try to move that yellow arrow in the battery chamber, but that will make your meter loose it´s callibration. To do that you should have another meter in order to get a metering comparsion.
Hope it can help. Let us know the results, ok?

Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions, André, but unfortunately neither of them worked. I guess I'll have to get the meter serviced.

Kenko bought the rights to the Minolta meter line. You might contact them about service.

Just a general idea...

I haven't had your problem. I did have one which 'lost' it's sensitivity where the calibration wouldn't adjust enough to make it right.(I bought it used...)

One thing I recall with some devices with similar problems: I disassembled a couple of malfunctioning devices and reassembled - some worked like new again while others had no effect. I think sometimes cables or electronics 'get loose' or get dirty.

I think of this like a malfunctioning keyboard they I fixed by 'banging' it up-side-down. I've seen stranger things....

Hi, I'm facing exactly the same issue. Did you get to fix it? If so, how did you solve it? Thanks.

You might be better sending the OP a PM .

Bearing in mind this is a 15 year old thread , they probably aren't keeping an eye on it .

The OP does seem to be still active here but might not visit too often , a PM would flag up in his personal email address .
