ACR 4.1 incorporates tools of nex Lightroom update

If I refer to Phil's screenshot of ACR 4.1 on the news page, it shows the new "Clarity" control.

This tool, which helps to boost a rather flat pictures, is part of the next Lightoom 1.1 update, which will arrive soon.

Would be interesting to see if ACR 4.1 gets the same new sharpening tools of the next Lightroom release.

During Scott Kelby's Lightroom seminar May, 22nd, Tom Hogarty, head of LR project, made a short demo of LR 1.1 new features. According some participants, the combination of "Clarity" and new sharpening gives "wow" results on images.

Yes, Camera Raw 4.1 and Lightroom 1.1 are in complete sync as to the processing controls. So this includes the new sharpening controls was well.

Thanks Thomas, for confirming this.

Can't wait next Lightroom release, and I hope a few improvements regarding DAM features as well.

Well done, by the way.

Any projected dates for Lightroom 1.1?

Just wondering if you heard any dates or timeframes for Lightroom 1.1

The only word by now is "soon" by Tom Hogarty at Scott Kelby's LR seminar.

Thanks!

Dear Mr. Knoll,

I do not envy you your position. Yada-yad-yada, you will get it from all sides no matter what you do ... because your software is SO important. As a professional portrait photographer of 30+ years, I can never change the world with my images the way you and your colleagues have done with software.

And like others, I cheer with glee or bitch and moan about the things I like or your staff "blew" in each release, but always ...

Let me say thank you in a big way as your software makes my job possible and for the most part even pleasant.

And thanks for poking around here as well as on your own forae, it does make a big difference that you are seen here listening and responding.
