I have always had good service in france, i know service is part of the actual bill, but i remember 10% being the normal, i can handle 16% if i am happy

Actually, i have always been happy with service and food in France, with the odd exception in St malo, but that is a very cut throat touristy situation.

I remember the French as being typical European, with maybe a little less than average patience and they tend to smoke a lot!, but i always enjoy my visits

I come from Guernsey, Channel Islands, so not to different or distant in many ways.

It is know, americains don't make any gift to the rest of the
world, except if their get a profit from it. The prices in Brazil
is worst that what you can find in all Europe. Considering the
people work and earn worst salaries, often 3 timesless than USA,
selling 70%more is totally ridiculous except if you wish to kill

The fact is that people from USA are rarely concerned about what
happens to the rest of the planet. Maybe it is their arrogance,
maybe just narcissic stupidity.

First, prices are dictated by Canon Japan, not by Canon France or other local reps.

Second, big companies (cars, electronics) have very long term price politics. They do not change pricing because of exchange rates fluctuations. It happens that US dollar is very low now. Since five years US dollar lost about 60% but prices did not change on local markets. You can be sure that if in coming years Euro gains 50% to US dollar, you will be still paying 4500Euros for the camera.
