Tutorial: Adding Datestamp to all pictures using Irfanview

Here's a quick way to add datestamp to all your photos using irfanview for output of 3mp...you may need to change x/y coordinates for different output resolutions.

1. Go to http://www.irfanview.com and download the most recent version 3.99.
2. Open any image
3. File--> Batch conversion/rename--> advanced option.
-RESIZE: SET LONG SIDE to 2048 (3mp image)
-PRESERVE ASPECT RATIO
-RESAMPLE

-MISCELLANEOUS--> ADD TEXT OVERLAY--> SETTINGS
--X COORD = 50; WITDH = 300.
--Y COORD = 110; WITDH = 300.
CHECK = RIGHT BOTTOM
TEXT = $T(%m/%d/%Y)

$T(%m/%d/%Y) uses exif file to insert month/day/year. look in help file for further modifcaitons.

FONT SIZE = ARIAL 36.
FONT COLOR = RED
TEXT ALIGNMENT = RIGHT.

-- hide signature --

SAVE AS JPEG 90% OR ABOVE.

Excelent! I have been able to build a timelapse placing time of each shot over 1500 shots! Evenmore, I  was able to reduce the size of each file in order not to have to work with 25Gigs of jpegs files!
