What you mentioned about the successor to the EOS-1Ds Mark II is just unpredictably out of question but just your egoistic prediction.

Re: 1DsTc to deliver soon

Thank you for this inside information. I have just put both of my camera bodies on ebay as this is the camera I want.

(I hope you are right about the 'soon' part as my business will be REALLY slow untill it arrives)

MLU gave you away ...

[SARCASM]

"Mirror lockup programmable button(s)" ...

Knowing Canon, this would be impossible ...

They are more likely to allow you to use other buttons for Direct Printing in their next camera ...

You get an "A" for bei specific.

Name and prett much the complete feature set. Much of this I would y except the "TC" part. I think what they have is nothing but an interesting science project and will never see the light of day.

I would love to be proved wrong, however.

What about increaseed dr? The rest is nice, but for most people it will not increase the quality of ones image.

What about a 1Ds Mark III :)

Get out of here... I thought we are getting a 22mb 1Ds Mark III :).

BTW, my 1Ds Mark II says it is able to reproduce "true color" already to why a 1DsTruColor?

My addition to your prediction

If they ever deliver this camera there will be posts complaining about its shortcomings before copy one is in human hands.

Re: 1DsTc to deliver soon - NOT

Unfortunately I have it on very good authority that Canon will NOT announce a new full frame camera in the first half of this year, including at PMA or CES.

Re: 1DsTc to deliver soon - NOT

'I have it on very good authority' That would be NOT a Canon rep or a dealer then ..........see Photokina threads in sept 06 for the fantasy bull bath on here involving the above parties.

Can't wait till it comes out.....

So we can hear the rumors about the New 1DS IV.

I suspect the rumor will come out about 1 Day after the 1DsIII is announces.

Re: 1DsTc to deliver soon

I am sorry that I cannot elaborate on the validity of when or if this new 1Ds(Tc) or otherwise, however there are certain features of the characteristics below that are very appealing, and curious.

everything a 1Ds2 and 1D2 currently delivers:-

Features:-

  • 16.2 MP (Equiv 32MP bayer sensor)

If its not a Bayer Array, than what is the process for Color ???
AND, how does this produce an image of equivalent to a 32MP Bayer array?

Does the resultant image JPEG or RAW when rendered, literally give a 100MB TIFF file as a 32MP bayer-array would deliver.

This would be similar to a 12,000 by 8,250 pixel dimension tiff file opened in Photoshop !

That would be truly be a revolutionary generation for a Pro digital camera.

  • 8fps (buffer 32 RAW, unlimited large Jpg)

  • ISO50-6400 (custom function ISO18 and ISO12800)

This elevated level of ISO is MOST interesting for indoor available light, gymnasium photography !!! wow. This would virtually eliminate the need for ceiling mounted strobes for Pro or NCAA Basketball, Volleyball, Hockey events..

  • Dust prevention system (upgraded 400D model)

  • full frame

  • 8.2MP mode for sports shooters (uses full sensor, but @ 8.2MP)

Apparently, they are image sampling so that FF is preserved while in high-speed mode. I mentioned this to canon years ago as a possible technique, rather than the "cropping" of the imager as Nikon does.

  • Mirror lockup programmable button(s)

  • 11 shot bracketing (available 11,7,5 & 3)

Re: 1DsTc to deliver soon

It's referring to the Foveanesque sensor Canon have some sort of patents on, ask Sigma camera owners & they will tell you their Foveon chipped cameras are equivalent to 12 MP's Bayer (snigger snigger)

Paul,

Todays sensors use a Bayer interpolation method. This means that a percentage of the colour in the image is guessed. Incredibly accurate and amazing results, but guessed none the less.

It's all patented and I'd be shot, but if I was a guessing man, the algorithym they use to extract the RAW data from the sensor into a sensible image for our eyes is storing multiple bits of information per colour per pixel, therefore able to give the subtle nuances in light, tone and colour.

Yes

Another Nail in any other makers coffin who attempts to break back into this field.

Yes, they can bayer-ise the true colour image backwards to get an identical image.
