Details

Looks like they did away with the top panel thing... similar to Sony A100 and Oly E500 now. Seems that size & weight take precedence.

4. improve frame per second start-up time 0.2s

So, what is the fps? Buffer depth?

6. 9-point AF

Sigh.

I hope Canon's 10 MP APS-C sensor can continue the tradition of low noise with strong details. I won't be upgrading 'cos I am happy as I am.

Well...

Reply with 'quote'. You'll see the links and just copy and paste in separate window.

Standard thing for 'official' leak photos.

they are there

but you have to open them in another tab or window - apparently they don't like to be inline.

Not very good pics. Whoever came up with them... needs to understand the terms "scale" and "logic".

Ooops

6. 9-point AF

Hopefully this is the same AF sensor used in the 30D.

think about this for a minute

Look at the "back" image:

How to select the 9 AF points? Did you notice that the the label on the top right most button still has the old 7 point image, while that on the LCD has the 9 point diamond? -=clue=-

How about taking up all the back space with black black areas? -=clue=-

How about that external eye sensor ala Minolta (fwiw, Canon ECF sensors were located inside, and the eyepiece is a large size) -=clue=-

ad naseum....

It's not clear how you see the top right button has 7 point image.

How about taking up all the back space with black black areas?

To save battery life? Remember, we're still using NB-2LH.

How about that external eye sensor ala Minolta (fwiw, Canon ECF
sensors were located inside, and the eyepiece is a large size)

That sensor is designed for the LCD display to be turned off when camera is brought to the eye, not for eye focus.

Looks like the grip is NOT changed though despite 'overwhelming' complaints. Hmmm....

8. storage: CF

CF? Damned - only Canon makes reality impossible - low segment should be SD! That is just plain stupid, if true ...

I think he´s talking about the AF-point selection button (the top right, which is also the image magnify button). As far as I can see this has changed and seems to be accurate for the 9-Point AF.

To me this pics look to be no fakes...we´ll see in 2 days (which is not worth argueing now, as it shouldn´t be about things like that in general)

CF is good

I keep losing my SDs.

Good to have CF if you plan to upgrade to 5D and bring your lenses.

SD needs a CF converter I believe.

CF cards make sense for a D-Rebel

The Sony alpha also has CF, and people with lenses at least upgrading from original D-Rebel, mainly for far better AF, will keep their memory cards...
Who cares anyway, now a 1 GB card costs 35-40$!
But the same very small body is a no-no for many, protecting 30D sales...

Nice move to improve the AF, hope it also has the much more reliable metering system borrowed from the 20D!

Nice picture of the back...

Slightly improved design over current XT/350D, different shaped-buttons, subtle new curves, seems quite probable to me, after watching enlarged...

But this convincing picture is of too bad quality to be Canon's official, and it doesn't imply a new 10 MP sensor in any way!

Re: CF is good

OK, I know. I had G2 too. But now it really seems to me, that CF is kind of "outdated" (used quotes, as you can use e.g. microdrive, I know). The trend is simple - you can get SD in 4GB value.

It is just that I have small companion to DSLR already - Ixus 40. I have cell phone - SD, I have Car radio - accepting SD, you can buy MP3 player, supporting SD (micro SD more likely).

And last but not least - I have small USB stick with me, everytime, which accepts SD card - kind of reduction, which lets me to copy SD stuff to whatever PC. Canon is historicaly stupid enough (sorry), to not even support mass storage with their cameras ....

CF is not show stopper for me though, although I would really expect SD nowadays - you mentioned Sony, but look at Nikon otoh. I am more worried about 10mpx noise level, if 370D is 10mpx ...
