That's a nice shot! Looks like you were really close. What is an elpro2?

Spiders are ugly. I could never take pleasure of photographing them.

But, a nice pic!

Nice and sharp, plenty of detail, a good result, looks like you got some cooperation from the subject, good job.

Marvellous! Well-lit and in sharp focus. How did you get it to pose?
Also, how large was that spider, and is it a pet?

Re: my first spider... (FZ30 + Elpro2)

thanks Gerry,

i guess the subject was not very happy about my shooting session. the session started with a glass over the spider. i tried to made photos while it was in the glass, but these weren't good. after that i let it out. the spider began to run away, but to my luck after many steps for him, and two steps for me he stopped. in this time i made this photo out of 2 others.

the last action was to take the spider in the glass again and release it in the garden

Re: my first spider... (FZ30 + Elpro2)

thanks amanita, I'm glad you like it.

i described the procedure of making the photo in the last posting to gerry. i hope it was not too nerving to my superstar, the spider. it's not a pet. I'm too afraid of spiders

hmm, how big was it... i guess around 5cm.

'cos the general belief is the "hes" mostly get eaten in the mating process, so if you see a spider around in all probability it's a "she", certainly if it's of any size!
