Another light box from Bryan's lead - - -

I wanted one that I could store easily, take outdoors to put over flowers for sun and wind protection, and bigger. So I searched eBay and found a folding 30" cube made of spring steel and nylon. It cost me $30. incl. shpg. I don't like their backdrop material, but a trip to Walmart will cure that. Here it is in the 12" dia storage bag -

And here it is pop-ed open -

And finally with the front panel pulled away. There is also a zipper in the center.

As usual, the full sized orgionals are in the 'For Panasonic Users' gallery at http://tswill2.smugmug.com/gallery/291050/5/65466958 . Now all I have to do is master getting it back into the bag. A simple twist of the wrist....

hey, $30 for such a large one is a good deal!

I need something for shooting stereo gear (which is way bigger than my 12" square lightbox. that fold-it tent looks like it could easily handle standard rackmount stereo sized gear.

url ?

$20 shipping? how long did it take from order to receiving it? was it super well packed at least?

still, $30 total isn't bad, I don't think. I haven't looked at BH but I bet their equiv is a whole lot more..

plus, a fold away lightweight box like this is very portable. my plastic thing isn't really travel-able. not really.

thanks for the pointer, man

When you go to Wal-Mart...

Pick up some lightweight tent stakes. The wind might take that tent into the next county before you could catch it!

I wonder, you mentioned putting your tent over a flower ( a great idea, btw), does the floor have a zipper? That would be ingenious!

Good luck getting it back in the bag Tom (m)

I bought something very similar from e-bay, but it came with light stands and light fixtures etc. I knew when I took it out of the bag the first time, it was never going back in. LOL My sister got Sterling some play huts and tubes etc. made like this and they are not as small as they are suppose to get either. I watched and chuckled at my husband was trying to put away a big hitting net he put up for Sterling with the same design. Trevor used to use it all the time and get it folded up back small. I was of no help. I just shook my head and laughed. "Don't look at me", I told my husband.

Re: When you go to Wal-Mart...

No, there isn't a zipper (yet) but a razor knife and some sticky backed velcro should fix that. I sort of had that planned from the start. I think there is another brand with that feature for twice the price. Yes the S&H is somewhat high but the final price is what I go by. And yes LaRee it was a job refolding it small enough to put back into the bag, but I did it! You're lucky to have kids round for things like that!
